I wrote this yesterday for The Huffington Post and I feel pretty proud of it. I thought it was important to write something on Father's Day that speaks a bit to people who do not have their parents around. Plus, it was on my mind.

Beautiful post! Girl- you are just rocking it!
I'm also a non-driver due to a bad experience in driver's ed when i was 16 years-old. I get a lot of flak from my mother about my lack of driving skills. My mother is the only woman in her family who learned how to drive. She was also the only member of her family for a long time who owned a car (off and on) which is interesting because a lot of women in my family never learned how to drive because they didn't think they could afford a car. My mother sees a driver's license a way for women to gain independence. I know i need to learn how to drive even though i have no interest in owning a car. Good luck in your driving lessons!

I love your personal posts. Your writing is one of the best things about you...and you have lots of bests! Thanks for sharing that.
I will say HuffPo is an internet vortex. I have to tread very carefully when I go there, otherwise I'm sucked in and days will have gone by.
