I had a great, great weekend in Washington D.C. Here's why:
I saw a friend from college that I always enjoy seeing. We went hiking along the Potomac River which you see here thanks to our friends at Wikipedia. We talked for hours about the complicated painful things in our lives and the cool wonderful things. She got a little action that I hope works out for her.
We got sucked into the NFL Draft. She is a big football fan. I am not but love the drama that surrounds sports. I got all invested in which guys went when. Plus Vince Young and Matt Leinert are cuties. Poor Matt going to sucky Arizona. And Denzel Washington's son was in the draft. Just a fun fact.
I had dinner with a friend that I did Habitat for Humanity with in South Africa. We had yummy Moroccan food at Utopia which I highly recommend and drank too much.
On Sunday I saw my Uncle Charles and it was so great to hang out with him. It was so nice to be with someone that has known me my whole life. I am so rarely around that and he is just such a great guy. I feel like I have been trying to connect with all of these new people in my life when I had family around me all along. It was a nice feeling.
I also got a ton of writing done. 15 pages to be exact!
My friend gave me two cds and I am loving The Fray. I can not stop listening to How To Save A Life. I am smitten.
I did miss The West Wing & Grey's Anatomy but it's just TV. Or at least, that's what I am telling myself.
I do love D.C. D.C. and Chicago are two cities I have little crushes on.
I wish I could tell you that you didn't miss much, but "West Wing" was quite sweet. Alan Alda is a damn good actor. And "Grey's Anatomy" ...well, damn. Alex was an A**HOLE and Denny looks even better when he's standing up. I think it's the water on the set because he doesn't look nearly as good on "Supernatural."

Isn't amazing how charming and beautiful DC can be and yet to live there is to feel all the things that make DC the antithesis to NYC. I just couldn't hang. But G-d its beautiful in the spring. RE: Uncle Charles- it never ceases to amaze me how the old adage:"Often what you're looking for is staring you right in the face" is so true. Congrats on the pages and the life well saved!
