I admire all of you who are biking to work, walking across the bridge, sharing cabs. But I am not doing anything like this in 22 degree weather.
You can forget it. It's not like I save lives for a living here.
I may try to take a cab. Maybe.

freak of the week!
shame on you..where is that chapin girl in you that i know and love?
i rode my bike over the manhattan bridge the first day of the strike, and over the brooklyn bridge on the way back. each way - an hour and a half. i rode it over the brooklyn bridge wednesday morning, and was lucky enough to get a ride home w/ my bike that evening. i was off coincidentally on thursday, the last day of the strike.
SO...my butt looks quite nice now : ) and i have to say, 3 hours of exercise was the greatest supplement to my current depression resources that ive ever experienced. my mood was so great, i felt so good...its been giving me a lot of grist for my mill regarding doing this more often for myself.

I felt the same way. I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge three days in row and I felt happier and healthier than I had in a while. It just goes to show that exercise is good for you.
