Things I Am Loving

Just to keep you in the loop:

-Isha’s nieces and nephew – They are too cute!!!!! I should’ve taken pictures on Thanksgiving.

-Kanye West’s new video for I Heard Em Say – This has a lot to do with my crush on Adam Levine. A lot to do with that.

-The Boondocks – It makes me really uncomfortable sometimes but that’s the point. It’s hysterical and really shows what a lot of black folks are thinking. (Though, Aaron McGruber takes himself a little too seriously.)

-Grey’s Anatomy– But I think you guys know that.

-Oprah – The older I get, the more intense my love for her gets. I really think that every black woman is taught to love her at birth and has no idea it is happening. I just can not turn her off.

-Plaintains– I used to make them all the time but I rediscovered them lately. (Thanks Ayoola!!) They are yummy and fast to make and filled with iron, something I can not get enough of.

-Warm Weather - I only experienced it for a few days in Florida but it was nice, nice, nice.

-Prison Break – I have no idea what is going on but who cares. (I think our love for Wentworth Miller has brought us closer Tara.)

Just a little note: More people have checked out my blog in the past few days than ever. Want to know why? Because they are doing searches on Wentworth Miller!!! Boy the secret is out on that guy. Well, for all of you looking for more info on him, all I know is that he is 33, went to Princeton, is half black, supposedly single and straight. That's all I got folks. Good luck with the rest of your search! I understand and support your efforts. I want to know more as well.

-Everwood - It is not like 7th Heaven. I promise!!!! It is so so good.

-My iBook G4 – The screen is a good size and it does everything I need. Plus it is mine and it is paid for!

-My Amos Lee CD – His voice in incredible.

Wentworth is absolutely gorgeous and I admit I'm obsessed with him. lol Glad to meet another sista with a similar Went obsession. Does he date sistas? Does anyone know? Because frankly, I don't know how the sistas at Princeton let him get by without someone snatching him "off the market", so to speak. lol

Every night I light a candle hoping that if Wentworth can not be mine, let another nice black girl get him. I, however, think this is in vain.

And to the women that I may be offending. Oh, get over it. So many hot black men get with white women. It would be refreshing to see a few of them get with some black women every once in a while.

Wow, you're not the only one, tuckergurl. My friend and I are both Wentworth fanatics and we always say that if neither of us can have him, at least we hope and pray some black woman gets him. What really annoys me is how on most of his fansites, whenever it's asked who he would make a good couple with, it's always assumed that the girl just has to be white. There are plenty beautiful, sexy and talented black girls too. Why is it assumed that he wouldn't want to get with a black girl?

Erica, I noticed the same thing about some of the fansites and message boards. It's like only white women are good enough for Wentworth. I also noticed that some will strongly emphasize that his dad is only half black even though from what I've read Went has said his father considers himself a black man, not a half black man.

I find this topic fascinating because I feel like it hits on this nerve for black women. We just want to be desired (beyond Halle Berry) and coveted in the same way that women of other races are.

So when we find out a man is black we think (or rather hope) that because he is black, he knows the value and beauty of a black woman. The stakes are even higher if the guy is as coveted as Wentworth Miller! I know I hope he dates a black woman but who knows what his deal is. Who knows what kind of women he likes?

WM is also a complicated figure because he is playing a white man on the show and they are going to give him white love interests. People are just going to see him as a man that dates white women because that is who he dates (well not really dates since he's in prison but you know what I'm saying) on the show.

This is a tangent but when I was a teenager, I had a HUGE crush on JFK Jr. I was obsesssed with who he was dating. Always. I had this fantasy that he would date a black woman because I believed that somehow our country's beauty aesthetic would change. Once they saw him doing it, our country's prince, it would become the rage. This was silly and somewhat sad but as I get older, it resonates more and more with me.

I hate to say this but I heard on "A Socialite's life" that he has been seen holding hands with men!!!! I don't really understand why white woman would mind Black women wanting black men to date black women. I would not begrudge a Greek, Italian or an Albanian for wanting his/her fellow compatriates to continue the culture through there mating. Being Jewish, I totally understand. Sometimes its weird to see a Jewish guy dating a waspy woman. And yet I want the right to choice whomever I want to date. I just don't really like it when people feel that teh choice to date one race is about denying the other. Sometimes it really is just a who the person is. Would you begrudge a white man the choice to date a black woman? I know its different because the averse problem is a bit pandemic- but I sort of feel like its the cookie jar dilemna: If Black men dating white women does not stop being such a culteral taboo for both sides its going to be fervently appealing forever.

I wish I came across this site earlier. I love Mr.WM myself. I like him because too me he seems to be a classy kinda a guy.For all the sisters out there-I hope we all are blessed with someone just like Wentworth-Why not. I think most of us get a bad rap because we are always being compared to video vixens and other images that potray us in not such a positive light....But you know what many of us are more than just bodies, we are beautiful and smart and God knows sometimes the selections out there are not so great for us and some want one main woman and a side dish woman. So I hope this is the year for the Beautiful, Coco, Dark Chocalate, Caramel, women to get some of what's out there as long as he is good too us and for us. PEACE.

Jacqui from Brixton, London, i like many from England love wentworth miller lots, come on what woman wouldn't, he is just so gorgeous what ever colour he is, i did fancy him before i new what race he was but thought he was mixed anyway. I have family who look like him and whiter but call themselves black always, my parents both have mixed Jamaican backgrounds, but I would say I'm 100% black, I date black and mixed race men equally...
I have noticed that wentworth appears in photos with only white women out and about, i think he jumped on the band wagon talking about his race, maybe thats why he keeps such a low profile from the press photographers dosen't want to upset us women of colour well he has done that already in those photos, he loves to be seen in public white women, well that says it all, we all have eyes to see whom he likes, never a black woman in sight, makes me sad, but I cant help looking at the man, sexy or what!!!
P.S no way is that man gay!!!

Hey everyone! I'm from England and I love this site. Until now I thought I was the only black girl who is in love with Wentworth Miller! He seems pleasant, open minded and very intelligent, not to mention his good looks..WHAT MORE COULD A GIRL WANT?

I was also attracted to him before I knew that he was from a mixed background, but when I discovered that he was part black it just made him even more interesting. I really hope that he marries a black woman or woman of colour, I'm not saying this because he's mixed raced, but simply because it would be nice to see a black woman in the arms of such a nice guy.
