I was sitting on my butt all day Saturday doing yoga and watching DVDs and what did I miss but Dave Chappelle's secret concert in Clinton Hill with The Roots, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Kanye West, a Fugees reunion and more! The New York Times wrote kind of a strange review. I feel like people over think music but I guess it can be said that I over think movies.
I just read the review and it sounds like it was an amazing event (or 'happening' to use the artsy NY word). Wish I coulda been there. I'm definitely glad to hear that the Fugees are kind of back together doing stuff, and so I'll look forward to the Gondry film. One thing though: Kelefah Sanneh (the NY pop muusic writer) is abit too enamoured of kanye West. I've heard Mr. West's music and yeah, he's talented and playful and serious and complex; but still, enough!

Oh, I can never get enough of Mr. West. But yes, she is a bit enamoured. It seems like he is the newest addition to this group of artists though and therefore, the most exciting. Everyone else is fantastic but a bit played. (OK, not The Roots though Questlove is on Chapelle Show almost every week.)
